Electrician in Skellefteå
New heater or replacing the old one — we connect it safely with the right connection box and sizing, ready for the first sauna the same evening. Fixed price with the ROT deduction applied.
A sauna combines high heat and high power — therefore the connection box must withstand the temperature, the cable must be the right type and the heater must have the right circuit breaker in the consumer unit. We check the whole picture at replacement, not just the connection itself, so the sauna is as safe as it is enjoyable.
Often, but not always. A new heater with the same power output can usually be connected to the existing cable, while a step up in output — for example from 4.5 to 8 kW — may require a heavier cable and a different circuit breaker in the consumer unit. We check the nameplate of both heater and cable before connection so you receive clear information instead of a surprise.
A rule of thumb is roughly one kilowatt per cubic metre of sauna, with a margin upwards for glass doors or uninsulated exterior walls. A family sauna of four to six cubic metres often lands around 6 kW, while larger sauna rooms need 8 kW or more. If you are unsure, write the dimensions in the booking and you will get advice before the visit.
Many of the sauna installations we carry out are in summer cottages around Skellefteå — along the coast towards Bureå and Byske or inland towards Burträsk. Conditions are often different from a house: older consumer unit, limited fuse capacity and long periods when the building stands cold. We make sure the heater gets a circuit the house can actually handle, and we can install a frost guard in the same visit if the cottage needs basic heating.
Change from wood-fired to electric and you can forget the chimney sweep and the waiting time — an electric heater is ready in under an hour. You are welcome to choose and buy the heater yourself; we handle the connection and make sure the installation meets the requirements that apply in a sauna.
No, the permanent connection must be made by a qualified electrician. Benches and wall panels you can fit yourself, but the connection, junction box and any new circuit in the consumer unit are electrician's work.
A swap on the existing cable normally takes an hour or so. If new cable or a new circuit is needed it takes longer — you will be told the full picture before work begins.
No, you buy the heater yourself. The fixed price covers the installation with connection box and standard materials, with the ROT deduction already applied.
Yes, sauna cabins on the plot and by the water are common jobs. The outdoor environment imposes extra requirements on enclosure class and cable feed — describe the conditions in the booking and the electrician will bring the right materials.
