Diode density — a dense strip in an aluminium profile gives a smooth line of light without dots in the worktop's reflection. We place the LED strip driver on top of the upper cabinets or inside an adjacent cabinet: invisible in everyday use but accessible the day it needs replacing. The connection is made permanent instead of to the nearest worktop socket — that is the difference that shows, or rather does not show.

Not with the right driver. The flicker associated with LED almost always comes from simple power adapters or a wrong dimmer combination — with a quality driver and correct calibration the light is steady.
