Kitchen electrical installation in Stockholm

A new kitchen means new electrics: more sockets on the worktop, lighting under the cabinets, a dedicated circuit for the hob and the right connections for appliances. We handle the complete electrical contract at a fixed price in flats, terraced houses and detached houses — preparatory work when the carcasses are out and final installation when the kitchen is in place.

Plan the electrics before ordering the kitchen

The cheapest time to get the electrics right is before the carcasses are on the wall. We go through the drawings with you: where the hob, oven and dishwasher will end up, how many worktop sockets you actually need and where the lighting makes most sense. Then we prepare everything so the final installation goes quickly when the kitchen is fitted.

How many sockets are needed on the worktop?

More than you think. Coffee maker, kettle and air fryer are always out, plus everything that comes out and goes back. A good rule of thumb is double sockets per work surface, plus dedicated sockets for what is permanently in place. The regulations also require minimum distances from the sink and hob — we position the sockets so the kitchen is both practical and approved.

New kitchen in an older property — what commonly comes up

In an older housing stock — flats and terraced houses just as often as detached houses — the new kitchen regularly meets original electrics: unearthed sockets behind the cabinets, a cooker circuit that is not up to an induction hob and a small consumer unit with too few circuits for today's appliances. That is the norm rather than the exception, which is why a review of the supply is included in the preparatory work. If new circuits are needed you get a fixed price for them before work begins, and in a housing association flat we clarify what falls within the flat's responsibility before we start.

The lighting makes the kitchen

Spotlights in the ceiling for ambient light, LED strip under the upper cabinets for shadow-free working light and ideally a dimmer over it all — the lighting is the part of a kitchen renovation that is noticed most in everyday life. We run for everything while the walls are open so you avoid surface-mounted solutions afterwards.

Appliances connected correctly from the start

Induction hob on its own circuit, permanent connection where the manufacturer requires it, RCD-protected socket for the dishwasher and correct positioning behind fridge and freezer. Everything is test-run at the final installation, and you receive the documentation — something that both warranty and insurance may ask for.

Frequently asked questions

When in the renovation should the electrician come?

Twice: preparatory cable runs when the old kitchen is removed and the walls are open, and final installation when the carcasses and worktops are in place. We coordinate timing with your carpenter or kitchen fitter.

Can the existing sockets be used in the new kitchen?

Sometimes, but rarely straight off — work surfaces and appliances rarely end up where the old sockets are, and unearthed sockets must not be built behind new cabinets. The review during preparation gives the answer.

Do you also handle water and drainage?

No, we do all the electrics. Water, drainage and ventilation are for other trades — but we are used to working in the same schedule as them.
